Prologue |
||
| This page doesn't aim to sling mud or defile somebody's fair name but to show the situation from my point of view, the situation that took place in 2007. The situation is not very pleasant for us and generally speaking this page would never exist if it was not about our company's image. When I say "us" or "we" I mean Compass CAEG group whose site you are visiting now. | ||
Short preface |
||
| Once upon a time, at the earliest stage of tourist business development in Kyrgyzstan, one of the companies which decided to go this way was Top Asia Company. There were three organizers but here we will speak about two of them – Valeriy Georgievich Denisov and Alexander Dmitrievich Tyan. It should be pointed that these people, like all who used to start tourist companies that time, went in for tourism or alpinism during times of USSR and they knew each other very well. | ||
| As Alexander Tyan went in for sport tourism and crossed quite a lot of passes all around Kyrgyzstan, he developed tracking programs. The programs had a great success. | ||
| Here appears the third character of our story. This is one of the biggest tourist companies in Germany – Hauser Exkursionen, a partner company, which sent tourist groups to the programs created by Alexander Dmitrievich. | ||
Properly speaking... |
||
| Everything was all right or not so but... in 2003 the cofounders decided to separate. According to an agreement after the break up Top Asia and Denisov as general director undertook to pass some groups including those from Hauser Company (it is important for the further narration) for Compass Company service for 4 years. | ||
| Denisov coped with his duties rather well for 3 years. However before start of the 4th season he refused to carry out his obligations and didn't pass a single group (it's important as well). The season started and nobody solved this problem ad litem, there was too much work. | ||
| The 2007 season came to an end. From a friendly talk with a partner Alexander found out that Top Asia Company failed one tracking program on Enelcheck Glacier and shifted the blame on Compass Company. | ||
| These are the reasons for this article creation. Denisov didn't want to comment his actions in any way and just left for Germany where he had been living for some last years. No one wishes to take the blame upon himself. | ||
| I'd like to finish my narration with a part of the letter sent to the direction of Hauser Exkursionen Company. | ||

I'm going to cooperate with German tourist agencies, where my experience and business qualities are in demand. That's why I care about my business image and professional reputation. I respect your choice whether you work with Top Asia or any other company, I'd like you to be well informed.

As for me, I can say the following. |
||
| I casually was on Enelchek then. I was going together with a German group the same route across Tyuz pass to the basic camp in the south Enelchek. It happened so that they were planning half as little time for the same route that's why we were camping together just once, after Tyuz pass. I consider myself an experienced mountain guide and know all the rules and guidelines of these programs organization. I know what loading must porters take and what training they must get. I say that because as far as I remember there were 11 porters for 13 clients thereby most of the porters were first time in the mountains!!! Every client had a big bag, cooking things, camping equipment. Those who know what tracking is can imagine what loading was on young guys. | ||
| Guys from my team made two trips to help the guys from Top Asia, went for the clientss food stuff and things. It was 10 pm and the clients weren't still eating. By the way nobody thanked my guys for walking in the dark. We watered the young guys, porters, who were not able to move after the pass with such loading. Next morning we found out that a part of the loading (clients' things, food stuff and camping equipment) was left on the both sides of the pass. A helicopter was hired to pick up the things. This helicopter was carrying the things for the next two days instead of the porters. The porters were sent home. | ||
| That's what I saw with my own eyes. It was a great stress for me to know that all the blame for that was laid on us. | ||
| I described the situation from our point of view and you will make your conclusion. | ||
